The Superior Charity Show emblem from the Biennial Festival of Dr. Seyed Javad Ghahari was awarded to the Ra’ad Rehabilitation and Training Complex(RRTC)
In a ceremony which was held by the Madad Charity Institute of the Drug Reilief and Treatment to commemorate the International Disabled Day, the Festival organizers praised the Superior charity institutions for their services in the disabled community.
According to the report from the Ra’ad Complex Public Relations: at the ceremony which was held in the conference hall of the Imam Ali (AS) Art Religious Museum , initially ,a film was shown about the urban construction and its improvement in various cities ,then Mr. seyed Alireza Ghahari managing director of the Madad Charity Institute with emphasis on the necessity of afterthought by the active charity Institutes in the area of the disabled for development of the urban improvement. The Madad Institue itneded to hold this ceremony in Azar simultaneously with the World Disabled Day but because of the polluted months in Tehran and the mandatory vacations, we had to hold the ceremony with delay..
The managing director of the Madad Charity Institute, by naming the ceremony as”a City for All” noted that: Our cities have not yet been improved for the disabled and the people with the low ability. This is a subject that must be demanded by the charity institutes and the rehabilitation societies.
Following the ceremony, six of the experts and the activists from the disabled societies and the architects pointed out their views about the problems and obstacles of the City for the sake of the public usage.
Dr. Majid Abhari the academic member of the Shahid Beheshti University and the member of the policy making council of the Safe Society,by pointing to this subject that only about %5 of the mosques have been improved for presence of the disabled, started to readout some titles from the newspapers and said: In last year 3,000 children have lost their lives in many traffic accidents and the air pollution that has increased the probability of the disabled children birth by 30 percent.
Civil rights activist and the disabled basic rights protectorate Dr Mahboobeh Khaloogh with emphasis on necessities of the principles and standards of the improved passages and buildings added: We must start from a beginning point, because these subjects have been discussed several times in the past and still we have to reach to the required belief and will.
She by mentioning the memories from the earthquake that killed 34 thousand people, said: currently 245 disabled with spinal cord injury, live in the city of Bam the city that is not rebuilt fully suitable for this group.
Another Participant Dr.Nasrollah Farhangi secretary of the Society for the Architecture Figures by explaining the Article 29th of the Constitution said: by pointing to this article, the state is obliged to fulfill its duty of ensuring the old, the redundant and the injured afflicted people medical treatment and the free social security.
Dr. Farhangi refers to the collection of 2 books with titles "Designed for the Disabled" and "the Urban Comprehensive Plan Guidelines," said despite the efforts that I have done for compiling this books for years, no government or private publisher have been found for publishing the mentioned books .
Dr. Shahla Eazazi the specialist in the field of women sociology and the family by presenting the right introduction of the social injustices said: Formerly it was thought that the social injustices relates to the classes gap and the have or the have not groups, but nowadays it is understood that these injustices related to the people who are being discriminated, the people like the old, the children, the women and the disabled.
She by pointing to this issue said that the disability is counted as an injustice element, because the disabled can not fully make use of the urban facilities.So the world society is to erase the shortcomings by paying more attention to the equal and the complete participation of whole people from 1990.
Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Mahmoudi, referring to his own message in the meeting of the "wise town" said that "the city of the living," is like the most organisms with various states and behaviors such as Vibrant, illness, disease and so on.
He by emphasizing to the point that the disabled support must not be of the only verbal support, said: Our city, Tehran is just suitable for all the people and groups only for one weak in a year and that is the First weak of the year in Farvardin that there are no place for air pollution heavy traffic, chaos…
Later in the meeting Mrs. Anoush Mansouri Chairman of the Madad charity Institute Board of Trustees by mentioning to the righteous demands of the disabled specialized societies for creation of the urban suitable facilities, said: honoring the societies that make their effort to realize the disabled rights, is of great importance. On these basis the second biennial festival of Dr.Seyed Javad Ghahari for promotion of this culture wrote a letter to the charity institutes to introduce the paramount charity bodies.
She by pointing to this matter that among of the institutes that were communicated with, 32 of them sent their reports, which 18 out of them including The Raad Charity Complex, honored by the referees. At end of the festival the praise tablets and festival awards were given to the charity managers.
Mrs.Sedighe Akbari the managing director of the Raad Complex by receiving the praise tablet and the festival award thanked to the festival organizers who make their efforts in the area of the disable culture making, said Mr. Khosrow Mansourian made his effort to sublime the cultural and social position of these beloved people by replacing the term “disabled” with “tavan yab”
