Iran’s Team Came Back Honorifically from the Eighth International Sufficiency Olympiad, South Korea

Disabled people’s Olympiad national team was greeted warmly by the family members, Raad Charity organization’s officials and Bavar association at the Imam Khomeini air port.


 


Reported by Raad’a public relations, 13-member Olympiad team competed in 14 technical and artistical fields and at the end of the competitions, Arash Rezghi Barez in Painting and Mahsa Khan Ahmadi in character designing reached the third place and Ali Kosari in programming reached the forth. Among 57 countries, Iran got ninth.


 


Sedigheh Akbari, director manager of Raad charity organization, congratulated the competitors and wished them all success and said:”With your abilities, I’m sure, we will see more success in near future”.


 


Soheyl Moeini, the member of the board of directors of Bavar and secretary of Iran’s Olympiad committee who attended in the competitions, thanked the efforts of all who helped in sending, supporting the team.


 


Moeini said,”57 countries took part in these competitions; some has been preparing since 3 years ago, some countries had 113 members, 70 members and 60 members but our team didn’t have a lot of facilities.”


 


Secretary of Iran’s Olympiad committee added:”Judgment of these competitions was controversial and there were several letters sent to executive groups to complain about this subject. Iran did its best and no one could believe a team without support can shine so”.


 















 


“Among 57, only 14 won a medal and among these 14 countries some countries won 2 medals that Iran was one of them. In valediction, all the guests gave Iran a standing ovation” he continued.


 


Bavar’s director manager said:”the slogan of these competitions was “Hope, Happiness and Success” that meant disabled people should determine their fate and they have right to live, even with limitations”.


 


“It is necessary for our children to attend in such international arenas” he suggested.


 


“The level of the competitions was high” he said:”and the experts observed them in details since the beginning”.


 


At the end of this ceremony he said:”there was nothing as disability seen in competitions’ hall; everything was hope, happiness and competition. We should have representative next time to defend on our competitors’ rights”.
