On December 2nd (Azar 12rh) Two Physically Handicapped Will Climb the Milad Tower’s Stairs by Their Hands

1 اسفند 2012

In our society, the physically handicapped have progressed in spite of the limitations. However, they still have many problems because of cultural weakness of the people and the society.

On Azar 12th, the international day of the handicapped, Mahana Jami, 28 and Morteza Hossayni (Abdi) will climb 1800 stairs of Milad Tower by their hands to show their abilities.

Mahana Jami has started his activities years before the construction of Milad Tower in Mashshad and has practiced every day to be able to climb 1800 stairs by his hands, says Sedigheh Akbari, the managing director of Raad. Mahana is chemical engineer and does weight lifting.

Akbari says: in Raad we try to draw the handicapped from the corner of their house to the society and educate them to be able to earn money. In this regards the press and the media are really helpful. She asks why in different jobs in Seda and Sima, for example as executor, the physically handicapped are not asked to participate.

The internal day of the handicapped ceremony will be held in Milad Tower. It is the first time that this ceremony is somewhere outside of the Raad, and because of that we have to thank the responsible.

Knowing Raad Better

Raad organization is a kind of benevolent center that tries to draw the handicapped from the corner of their house and give them hope for life.

Sedigheh Akbari says: Raad, which was established by three young engineers in a cellar, has been working about three decades now, and it works with people financial funds and with purpose of recognizing the handicapped and educating them.

We receive the students of middle school until the people of age 45, and the volunteers can call the Raad on Sundays and register here. Then a psychologist and physiotherapist consult with them about their abilities and favorite fields, and after that they will be educated in different majors such as computer, accounting, painting, pottery and etc.
