Establishment of Social Entrepreneurship Center Raad Charity Complex

Raad Charity central office has 4200 square meter area and designed in 4 intersections especially for handicapped people along with 200 trainees in vocational courses, applied science and technology center with 100 disable students, Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Unit, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Counseling Psychology along with Social Entrepreneurship center. During the past 30 years over 7 thousands of people with disability training courses have passed the Thunder complex.

In 1389 applied science and technology center has been inaugurated as the country's first University building suitable for disabled people.

It should be noted that Raad educational complex as a private and apolitical institute has been accepted on March 24, 1997 as an associate member at United Nations Information Office.

One of the strategic planning of Ra’ad Charity is to expose disabilities capabilities. In this regards a few concretes measures have been taken such as: participation in technical and professional capabilities of people with disabilities olympiad in India and South Korea, national festival such as Ali Akbar (one of Shia’s prophet) are a few of Raad activities in this area.

Art and food festivals and ceremonies in collaboration with youth and women, scientific and administrative and social workshops especially for contact group, dynamic website, E-newsletters, SMS banking, seasonal publishing quarterly newsletters, participation in art exhibitions for products which has manufactured by apprentices are just a few of Ra’ad Charity activity for boosting the quality life of our disable people.

Establishment of Social Entrepreneurship’s Center

Social entrepreneurship consist activities and processes for discovering, defining, and exploiting opportunities in order to increase social wealth or creating business ventures.

Different category of social responsibility consists of: Efforts to shape corporate social responsibility, company's continuing commitment to ethical behavior, participation in economical development, Associations and charities, religious organizations, student associations, efforts to solicit public opinion on a particular topic, and to encourage the government or companies in support of encouraging the social commitment are just a few example.

In this regards and to support social entrepreneurship, Ra’ad charity has recently at 1392, seriously focused on employment issues; establishes and office for fulfilling people with disabilities employments. The office can benefit from scientific entrepreneurship graduates, experts and scholar’s from rehabilitation area, public authorities and NGOs, social entrepreneurs and members of Ra’ad Complex.

Objectives of Social Entrepreneurship’s Center

The main aim of social entrepreneurship office is to support social entrepreneurs.

The mission of the office is to promote social entrepreneurship. For meeting mentioned mission a few activities like sharing successful experiences, presenting educational programs inside media, Research projects, organizing conferences and seminars and disable people instructional reform and providing job-related training to the entrepreneurship could be effective.

Second mission is to facilitate social entrepreneurial activities. This would be achievable through consulting services, administrative rules and regulations, financial and non-financial guidelines.

One of the main missions for the Office of Social Entrepreneurship has been defined as the creation of a large and powerful social network of potential social entrepreneurs and their contacts with disable people job seekers.

Organizational Structure of Social Entrepreneurship’s Center

Office of Social Entrepreneurship office is a Strategic Council which is headed by of university professors, entrepreneurs and community activists. Office of the Council as a think tank is holding periodic meetings to govern major principles and follows the administrative procedures to get the latest result.

Staff unit consists of management office and expert seated which is managing the subsidiaries’ committees.

Based on the defined objectives for the Office of Social Entrepreneurship, a few committees have been formed as an arm of the executive office.

Each of tasks has listed below:

First Mission: Promotion of Social Entrepreneurship

Conference Secretariat: Strategic counsel has decided to promote social entrepreneurship with introduction of social entrepreneurship office and holding annual scientifically conference. The first conference subject would be the first national conference of social entrepreneurship is for of disable communities and on 18 June 2014.

The presidency of conference is in charge of Ms. Dr. Rasoulian, one of the Ra’ad boards of directors. Mr. Dr. Momayez is the conference secretariat, one of the Tehran university entrepreneurships teachers. Executive Secretary of the Conference is Ms. Ghafourian, master graduation of entrepreneurship management.

Second Mission: Facilitate Social Entrepreneurial Activities

- Supporting Committee of Disability Employment: With regards to the past experiences of working with disability employment it seems necessary to support them even after their activity started as an employee. In several cases leaving work has been seen due to different reasons.

- Entrepreneurship office has decided to introduce and gather groups to support disable people before and after their employment process to provide a sustainable employment in a long term scale for disable people.

- Educational Committee: One of the definite success points of disabilities in term of employment is self-employment and entrepreneurship and getting related educational- employment information. A few workshops in area of marketing and creativity, motivational, and a comprehensive guidance to how participate in interview meeting, etc. are just parts of this committee activity.

Third Mission: Social Entrepreneurship Network

- Employment Committee: one of the first activities of social entrepreneurship office is to link employers with those of disable people who are job seekers. In this regards, informational bank is in process of being update to address qualifies disable people to the interest employers.

- Self-Employment Committee: One of the objectives of the social entrepreneurship office is to identify talented disable people who have capacity of being an entrepreneur and provide conditions to fulfill this task.

From the very beginning of social entrepreneurship office it has tried to be a symbol of social entrepreneurship institution. The first enforcement of strategic council is to provide a visit plan for highly active entrepreneurs to visit the main office of social entrepreneurship.
