The event of commemorating the International Day of People with Disabilities held by attendance of MR. Gary Lewis, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Iran, and Dr. Hossein Alagheband, the head of Raad Applied Science University, Sedighe Akbari, General Manager of the RAAD Charity Complex, Dr. Mahmoud Alimohammadi, the adviser of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare Minister on Disability Affairs and some other artists and sportsman and people with disabilities.
At this event, the message of Ban Ki-moon the Secretary-General of the United Nations, regarding the international day of people with disability (IDPD) read by Gary Lewis as his special representative.
Gary Lewis congratulated the International Day of People with Disabilities and mentioned that the Ban Ki-moon’s message points to this matter that we should open the doors to all people with disabilities.
Secretary-General of the United Nations addressed one billion of the world’s population as disabled people and asked for equal opportunities for all people with disabilities.
At the rest of the event, a group of mental disabled people from Zaynab rehabilitation center sang an anthem with supervising of Ali Jabari, a blind composer which this matter faced with applauding of audiences.
Dr. Hossein Alagheband lectured regarding the IDPD and all the achievements of this day, he believed that this day can bring good opportunities to disabled people’s society. The head of Raad Applied Science Center commemorated this day and added: “Raad Applied Science Center has accepted 100 people with disabilities in an accessible academic environment”.
The draw of the Wishes Festival done in this gathering and Raad Charity Complex fulfilled some wishes of the people with disabilities submitted their wishes before IDPD.
This section of the event, done based on a Tree of Whishes and the wishes of disabled people such as having a big dull, riding a horse, being in an radio program, going to a theater, etc fulfilled in this event.
