Commemorating "Yuri Night" in Raad Charity Organization

Ceremony commemorating the first human space flight entitled "Yuri Night” was taken place with the presence of officials and members of the Safe Community of Tehran Municipality’s Steering Committee, especially area 2 Municipality, Bavar Association’s managing director, Tavan Gostaran Borna’s managing director, aerospace experts, trainees, students, youth groups of Raad and aerospace enthusiastic in Raad.
Movies and images of the first human flight into space (Yuri Gagarin) and the history of spaceships flights were shown in this ceremony.
Mrs. Akbari, the managing director of Raad, grateful of attending aerospace experts among the Raad trainees implied that she hopes such ceremonies motivates the disabled people to appear in scientific arena.
Mani Razavi Zadeh, the expert and executor of the ceremony, gave a speech about human efforts for flying to space, and also civil sciences and participation in global projects by all the citizens and especially the disabled people.
The next speaker, Mr. Wafa, aerospace expert, presented the spacecraft performance and its impacts on human life.
Holding a photo exhibition of the celestial spheres drew the attention of the aeronautics enthusiasts. In this section, the steps of forming a planet were described by the astrology experts for the visitors and Raad trainees.
Yuri Night’s last section was star observation using professional telescopes by the disabled people.
This charity event sponsored by educational authorities of Raad, cooperating with the youth group volunteers of Raad; Institute of Heavenly Peace and, Safe Community of Tehran Municipality’s Steering Committee, especially area 2 Municipality.
On April 12th 1961 (23 Farvardin 1340), Yuri Gagarin flew more than 40000 kilometers in space for one hour and 48 minutes by the Earth spaceship.
April 12 is also the anniversary of the launch of space shuttle "Columbia", the first spacecraft capable of reuse as well, twenty years later.
This historical day, entitled Yuri Night, is celebrated in different countries of the world in memorial of the human first flight.
